Google.org new project smarter energy car

Another green car

With Fuel going up on a daily basis, I am glad to here more and more about cars that run
on something other than fossil fuel. Google.org is introducing cars that plug into an
electric grid powered by solar energy. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles ("plug-in hybrids")
can achieve 70 -100 miles per gallon. I could use one of those now for my pickup. The
fuel economy of the electric vehicles is quadrupling the fuel economy of the average car
on the road today (~20 mpg). Wow 80 mpg can get you around. The plug-in hybrids can
sell power back to the electric grid when it's needed most through vehicle-to-grid (V2G)
technology

Accelerating the adoption of plug-in hybrids and vehicle-to-grid ("V2G") technologies,
RechargeIT.org, aims to reduce emissions and dependence on oil, this can be nothing
but good for the world economies, while promoting clean energy technologies and
increasing consumer choice. Hooking up the linking up of the U.S. transportation system
to the electricity grid maximizes the efficiency of our energy system.

Google.org has some very cool state-of-the-art technology to reduce the use of fossil fuel, with
more projects like this, it can and will enable future generations to have access to fuel
for transportation and heating.
