Doctor Practice goes Social

The more you spend on the internet you find that social networks are real popular with teens.  Now this concept of social networking is migrated to business.  Everyone likes to part of a group, why not a business group. The social networking has now migrated into the medical community.

Getting and education and trying to run a Physician practice must be brutal with the long hours and being on call all the time, let alone trying to manage a business, payroll, account receivable, finance, and accounts payable.  A service called BizRx helps busy doctors brush up on business skill and work on making practice run like a business.  They have available a  podcast of instructions discussing business and finance issue.  Did I mention that the  business lesson-like podcasts are Free.  I like free. The instruction is designed to teach doctors what they need to know for their industry. The med3q's free podcasts range in length of 5 to 7 minutes segments and are easy to follow and understand.

The Med3q.com brings business experts from across the nation giving business information to doctor-members, never a sales pitch.  Some of the upcoming podcasts will have experts talk about serve medical malpractice law suits, development and operations of a physicians owned surgery center(outpatient) and succession planning for your doctor's medical practice.   One of the the first podcasts, covers tips on financing your medical practice.
I see more of this for professional services industry.

Cheers

Press Release
MED3Q.COM LAUNCHES BizRx(tm):
THE PRESCRIPTION FOR
HEALTHY PHYSICIAN PRACTICES

FORT WORTH, Texas (July 9, 2007) - One dose of BizRx(tm) a day keeps the doctor's practice in good health.
BizRx, a new service at www.med3q.com that launches today, addresses common points of pain faced by busy doctors in the areas of business, practice management, patient relations, personal finance and much more.
Engaging and stimulating audio interviews with business experts are regularly served up at the site in 5-to-7 minute increments to doctors who have joined med3q. Membership in the health-focused social-networking site is free.
"I see tremendous potential for BizRx because practice management is such a huge issue," says Dr. Ralph A. Gambardella, chairman of Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
Credentialed med3q doctors can access fascinating interviews with successful business experts, presentations and other educational tools on the med3q site developed just for them.
The BizRx series will include topics of interest to physicians such as:
 Finance issues for doctor's practices,
 Succession plans and exit strategies for doctors,
 What physicians need to know about medical malpractice and how to win at trial,
 Successful medical group integration, and
 The development and operation of physician-owned outpatient surgery centers and other facilities.
Bite-size and relevant, BizRx helps time-crunched doctors think through important, but too often neglected, aspects of their professional lives that affect the day-to-day management of their practice, revenue and profitability, wealth building, patient satisfaction, risk and more.
"Physicians have limited time to spend thinking about their businesses," adds Dr. Darren Lackan, president of the Diabetes and Thyroid Center of Fort Worth. "We tend to focus on patient care and leave business matters to others. That's why the expert advice offered in BizRx and other physicians' comments in the med3q forums regarding what works in their practices is vital."
