Military service Is a different world

For the last twenty-three my nephew has been involved in the coast guard. From his beginning in the Coast Guard Academy, four years. Then his life changed, he got to cut his teeth small boat duty for a few years, then land duty for year, then back to ship duty for a few years to San Francisco. He was out on the left coast when the earth quake happened during the Oakland - Los Angeles Baseball World series. The high way that collapsed what is route in and out of the coast guard base. Everyday he would travel home about 5oclock, the day of the earthquake, he went home early to watch the World Series game.  How lucky can you get.

During the coast guard time, they allow him to take off a year with pay to get his master's degree, he has trained in Oracle database  programming and management. When he put in his 20 years, he can write his own type of job in the none military world.

Before he started his journey in the Coast Guard in High School, is first choice was to get into Navy Academy, they happen to be full that year so off to the CG he went.

When he finishes next year I am wondering if would enlist with another branch of the military service, I know the Navy is looking for experienced service service people they are offering bonuses and pay equaling there previous pay, he might be able to skip united states navy. I think he should just go and teach at the Coast Guard Academy.

Cheers
