Today was a crazy day.  My Wife and I went to the local Wally World(WAL-MART) to take some things back that did not fit.  Since I did not have receipts for the merchandise, I was issued a gift card, this part of take-back only took about 15 minutes the rest was an unbelievable nightmare.

My wife got the things she needed and when we went to check out the registrar would not take our gift cards.  I did here on the news that gift card sales, actual gift cards bought was up over 43% than Last year, wow that is an amazing increase.

Now to my issue. The registrar said the gift card only purchased 20 minutes previous, I still had the receipt, the tape was telling me was locked out and it had been used many times, not today, anyway the head clerk said we would have to call an 800 number to get the card released.  I suggested just push an approval button, I still had the receipt where that had transfered the $31.00 dollars to the card.

It took us over 1.5 hours of wait time on the Wal-mart phone, trying to get approval.  We found out there was a mass use of gift cards that Wal-mart was locked out of its satellite.  But we finally got someone to ok the credit.  Talk about bad timing.  We check with our inlaws, they also had problems with gift-cards at a different store.

I can tell you I would not want to be the IT person that is responsible for the the Satellites.
