An internet Go server is a server that allow you to play the game "Go" other players online. The two types of "Go" game player servers are real-time "Go" game player servers and turn-based "Go" game player servers.

Real-time "Go" game player server will allow it's players to play against other in real time when both are online at the same time. The players are using a client program to connect to the server, which will send the game moves from player to player. The "GO" game player server also keeps track of time controls, calculates the game score and some "Go" game player servers will calculate player ratings
